First post in *GULP* months. Many, many months. So, what have I been up to? I came home from Virginia in November, with amazing memories, new friends, and a LOT to work on. I spent this winter working at the place that always feels like home to me, Almost There Farm. I shoveled, I scooped, and I rode as much as I could, and just let the summer sink in a little bit.
It's been good to be back and to just work on things quietly, at my own little pace. With springtime coming, I've been riding more, especially on Toby. He is ATF's new lesson horse and I've really enjoyed playing with him. We've done some trail rides, a beach trip, and today, a Western Dressage clinic.
I'm also getting ready to head over to Mountain Lane Farm in another month or so. I'll be spending the summer riding with my favorite ladies, and one of the horses will be Vegas, a 10 yo mustang mare who's been ridden before but needs a little boot camp. I know I'll be learning a lot from her!
Tomorrow I will write a little bit about Toby and I's introduction to Western Dressage. But Words and Spurs is back on, and hopefully I will do a better job keeping everyone posted about my new adventures in horsemanship this time! I am keeping a riding journal and copying articles and other tidbits I enjoy, and would like to share all of that on here as well.
